Jógastund and the manual consist of yoga poses with explanations, yoga stories, meditation, relaxation and breathing exercises, and friendship and massage games. Among other things, the goal is to improve children's skills in good and healthy communication, build a good self-image and control stress. The material also aims to improve children's vocabulary and listening comprehension.
The manual and supplemental material contain a variety of additional materials that support the book and offer a wider range of uses for professionals.
Varied and fun projects and assignments are included. These include, among others:
- Explanations of concepts related to yoga such as meditation, breathing, relaxation and yoga stories and how the teacher can start working with these elements in classrooms. Ideas for when yoga can be included in the daily schedule and the movement/rest break is introduced. There are also extra exercises and games that cannot be found in Jógastund.
